The Schedule Weeks section of the Schedule Detail window is the central focus of schedule creation. This is where detailed information about the schedule is entered week by week.
Because of the potential complexity of media schedules (and the reasonable limitation of monitor space), COMPASS has been constructed with multiple ways to describe a broadcast schedule. The Schedule Weeks section consists of four tabs where information may be entered.
•Weekly Schedules: This is the "standard" method of scheduling ads; a specific number of advertisements to air in a specific time frame on specific days. This section does provide the option to schedule "Run Of Station" (ROS) ads, as well as a variation on packaging (a quantity of ads for a bulk price) and "bonus" (no charge) ads, as well as fees and/or credits.
•Ads Spanning Multiple Weeks: Some media offer ads that air on no fixed dates over a specified period of the schedule/campaign (for example: 11 ads to run over 7 weeks). These ads don't have a "home week" as the media can schedule them in weeks wherever time is available.
•Schedule Expenses and Credits: If a schedule has expenses such as promotional fees or credits that do not apply to a specific week of the schedule, they can be entered in this tab.
•End Text/Disclaimer: A separate section where overall end of schedule text, special instructions, and disclaimer information may be entered specifically for each media.
Each of these sections is accessed through the Schedule Weeks tabbed interface:
